St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church

In a few weeks the church I belong to will be hosting their annual Spaghetti and Italian Sausage dinner. It's a time where the community comes together to help.

"Before the first church was built in 1922, a priest would travel from Little Rock, by train, to Ledwidge. From there, he would insist upon walking the rest of the way to Little Italy, as the steep, winding road was said to test his faith (a little too much to ride by horse and wagon).

The wineries and acres of grapes have long since disappeared, save for a sprinkling of vines reserved for personal use, but the influence of that culture is still felt here. In moments of great joy or sorrow, one can still hear the Italian language spoken by some of the remaining descendants. The church still thrives, with Little Rock and the surrounding areas benefitting from the great spaghetti dinners put on by parishioners as fund raisers for the church."

Please join us on Sunday, October 6, 2013 - 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at the church at 10:00 a.m. Adults: $12; Children 6-12 $5 with 5 years and under eating FREE!

We are located on Highway 300 in the small community of Little Italy. From Little Rock, take Highway 10 to Highway 300. Continue on 300 until you reach St. Francis Church (approximately 12 miles).
