Posole
There's nothing finer this time of year than a bowl of posole to warm up your bones! We fixed it last night. Yummm ;-)

Receiving flowers
I always enjoy receiving flowers....especially when it's totally out of the blue. That's when it feels like such a gift because it's the sentiment that really counts. Yesterday I received these roses from my hubby. Such a sweet guy ;-)

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church
In a few weeks the church I belong to will be hosting their annual Spaghetti and Italian Sausage dinner. It's a time where the community comes together to help.
"Before the first church was built in 1922, a priest would travel from Little Rock, by train, to Ledwidge. From there, he would insist upon walking the rest of the way to Little Italy, as the steep, winding road was said to test his faith (a little too much to ride by horse and wagon).
The wineries and acres of grapes have long since disappeared, save for a sprinkling of vines reserved for personal use, but the influence of that culture is still felt here. In moments of great joy or sorrow, one can still hear the Italian language spoken by some of the remaining descendants. The church still thrives, with Little Rock and the surrounding areas benefitting from the great spaghetti dinners put on by parishioners as fund raisers for the church."
Please join us on Sunday, October 6, 2013 - 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at the church at 10:00 a.m. Adults: $12; Children 6-12 $5 with 5 years and under eating FREE!
We are located on Highway 300 in the small community of Little Italy. From Little Rock, take Highway 10 to Highway 300. Continue on 300 until you reach St. Francis Church (approximately 12 miles).

Yellow coneflower
I know it's hard to tell from the picture but trust me - this flower IS yellow! It's quite small and the plant has more blooms. More photos to follow ;-)

Watching Soap Operas
Something I've always wondered. Why is it when a character is ill or has some grave disease/illness he or she refuses to tell their family and friends? Instead - they keep it a dark secret. I know when I'm sick I want my husband to know - LOL! I need the comfort.
Also, why are men sooo dumb when it comes to women? They are easily fooled by some woman playing the "teddy bear" tricks.
It just escapes me why writers write like they do...oh well, just my thoughts ;-)

Another Rainy Day
Ugh, when will this rain stop? It's been raining for days and I hate that we will again have rain on Easter Sunday. Last night attended Good Friday mass at St. Michael's and it was enjoyable. Today nothing much to do.
Happy Easter to all my followers....
